Trusting your Intuition
Google defines instinct as:
“a natural or intuitive way of acting or thinking.”
It’s that gut feeling; that knowing; sixth sense; hunch etc. That feeling that I just ‘know’ although I don’t always know "where" that comes from exactly.
Do you dismiss it or go with it?
The usual reason for dismissing it is due to fear or doubt. Or we fall into needing to seek reassurance and / or approval from others.
Needing others to tell us what we are feeling is 'right'; whatever ‘right’ is. Or sometimes we can’t even see the options as we are paralysed by the fear and worry about “what if I get it wrong?!” What then?
So we seek out validation, opinion and support from others; which depending on the input and opinion and how many people we ask, can be an even more confusing process!
So what if we trust?
By trusting our instincts, we learn and grow from our choices and the decisions we make. It then helps us to navigate this life, it's twists and turns, ups and downs. It isn't always going to be easy and things might change, but what is the alternative? Choosing this path can then in turn allow us to help others and to of service.
We then grow in experience and in wisdom and develop this sense of ‘knowing’ that doesn’t need input from different sources or for you to be ‘OK’ just because others say it's right or wrong. In fact we can connect with that knowing and just know. This is then undeniable with our support in decisions and choices.
Research and input is good and of course is essential, that isn’t what I am referring to here. We are learning to trust our gut instinct more and more. That place deep down in our stomach area; where we know if something is right or if it’s ‘off’.
I am also not suggesting we trust this blindly i.e. if it doesn't feel right or I am still unsure. I always do nothing in this case.
Where does it come from?
Is it the Angels speaking to me? My Guardian Angel? God (or my equivalent)? My Higher Self? Something else?
I really don’t know for sure, but what I do know is if I connect with myself in the quiet and with highest intentions then it is always there. I also know it always has my back and only wants the highest good for me.
So learning to trust, surrender and let go is my driving force. For me, I can't ignore that inner knowing and 'voice'.
