Work harder on yourself than you do on your job!

"Work harder on yourself than you do on your job."

I struggled with this concept for many years.  Thinking that if I was working really hard, lots of hours, taking on projects and travelling then I would feel fulfilled and as though I was achieving.

Other people would also rate me and appreciate me and this in turn would make me feel better about myself and help to validate me.

Although I didn’t realise it at the time part of the reason why I was doing that (apart from wanting people to think I was doing a great job and I was awesome), was so I didn’t have any time to look at myself.

I don’t think I was ready to either.  I didn’t want to.  Why was that?  I think because I was scared.  I didn’t know what would come up to ‘look at’ or to work on.  Plus if I was busy I had an excuse.

Today I realise the importance of not only self-development, but also self-love and self-care.

I was forced (by the universe/Angels/whatever it is that has my back) to work harder on myself then on my job initially.

When I do, slowly but surely I became a little braver and know this was the way I need to be.

I need to make my journey a priority (of course paying bills and living is a priority) and this is now growing and expanding.

Amazing what happens when we become a little more focussing on ourselves.

This isn’t selfish or egotistical; it’s the cornerstone to our lives and to those that love us.

Wishing you a lovely day.

Blessings to you!
